2/9 PM UPDATE: Joining the list of AJC layoffs are:

· Alia Pharr, a metro Atlanta local government reporter
· Maya T. Prabhu, a statehouse reporter whose last day will be the end of the ongoing state legislative session

Again: every single person laid off has been a woman and/or a person of color
BREAKING: @ajc.com on Tuesday evening said it will lay off approximately 50 staffers, about 15% of its headcount, as it seeks to cut costs and marshal resources to invest in its growth.

The AJC published its last print edition on 12/31. About half of those laid off will come from the newsroom.

One of my more elitist opinions is that if you are a capitol city and don't have a functioning public transit system, a pedestrian-conscious city street layout, and deliberate infrastructure to protect cyclists,

you should be embarrassed

For all the discussion of doxxing federal agents, there’s essentially no discussion of how those agents are taking steps that attach severe punitive measures that stretch across wide swaths of the federal bureaucracy against people acting lawfully.
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

please remember that no matter how many “ICE is losing in MN” articles you read today, there is still a very real, urgent, ongoing crisis in Minnesota.

Who should organize this?

Our next POTUS. Dems can't do much in Congress but efforts by 2028 hopefuls haven't done what's needed: Booker’s marathon speech, AOC–Bernie's anti-fascist tour, Newsom’s influencer politics.

Our next leader won't comment on history. He or she will force it.

Four more have supported abolishing ICE in the past.

If Fulton merely taxed data centers properly - never mind other trophy commercial property - they'd have this $2M with millions to spare.
Appraising 3 new data centers at 8% of fair value shorted us $30M in 2025.
