This is absolutely correct. There are too many democratic leaders who are more interested in serving their corporate donors instead of reducing the brutal inequality of our economy.
Emerging from the darkness of this era will require us to acknowledge that the previous status quo, including many institutions that may have served us well in another era, have been failing for my entire lifetime.

The people that you are trying to persuade by moving right won’t believe you (the opposition doesn’t change their messaging against you! Your underlying values look unclear!), and your base gets demoralized.
Accepting every MAGA premise on “immigration” has moral costs, but assuming they’re all Savvy Trolly Problem Knowers, they should at least acknowledge it has **political downsides as well**. That it alienates many and makes counter messaging impossible because you look like total phony hypocrites.

I want to once again reiterate what I said earlier. The reason the vast majority of Democratic and so-called centrist elites have acquiesced over and over again is that they are COMPLICIT. Because they actually know that direct confrontation is how you defeat fascists and choose not to do it.
