WTAF @hfxgov.bsky.social?!

Don’t you have a warehouse somewhere for this stuff?!
No doubt someone thought this was a clever use of limited sheltered bike parking.
I’m old enough to remember when the project manager for Cogswell said they’d be “future proofing” bike stuff here. Instead, we ended up with racks too close together & only enough shelter if it doesn’t rain sideways.

As new vehicle prices continue to rise, and tariffs bring uncertainty, many Canadians are delaying or cancelling their plans to buy a personal vehicle. For some Canadians, the answer to their transportation struggles might be an ebike

With surveys suggesting Canadians are feeling the strain from vehicle ownership, many will be looking for an alternative. For many, the answer may lie beyond the car.

There’s so much to love in this #BikeBus post, but Patrick the starfish on a scooter is my favourite.
We invited Sam Westby, a local bikey instagrammer, along on our HONKoween #BikeBus parade, and he produced this nice reel that’s getting some exposure over there. www.instagram.com/reel/DQzVB2A...

My beloved thrift-store stainless steel sauté pan has reached the end of its life.

Does anyone have recommendations for favourite stainless steel cookware?

The current pan is 12"/30cm diameter, 3.5"/9cm deep, and more than 4.5qt/4L volume, and absolutely integral to many of weekly meals.

Absolutely delightful I Light Hfx tonight. A little dampness can’t keep Haligonian cyclists from a shiny party.

It was lovely to see so many #BikeHfx people tonight! I managed to chat with more folks than usual tonight but I still missed a bunch of you. Hi!!!

The #BikeHFX community is amazing. So many people showing up in the rain, great music, bright lights, and lots of skilled marshals. Thanks everyone!

Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

In many places, these covenants banning multi-unit housing served to perpetuate exclusion and class segregation after racially discriminatory clauses became unenforcable. They continue to keep apartment dwellers out of some of Halifax's most walkable, centrally located neighbourhoods.
As Halifax deals with a housing crisis, some of the wealthiest Haligonians have a different concern. Residents of some south-end peninsula neighbourhoods are concerned about “losing single-family density”

Was walking my 2yo across the road into daycare the other day. We paused as there was a driver rolling slowly in the driving lane. The driver, still rolling, waved us through. I stopped and held tight to my toddler.

Sir, there is no way I’m going to walk a child in front of your moving car.
