Isn't this pretty much how #BikeHFX got started?

And nobody has ever wanted to befriend someone because "I saw them drive a car once."
I saw a neighbor loading a very small child on the back of their bike this morning and now I want to befriend that neighbor on the basis of "I saw them on a bike once."
Who wants pancakes?

Andy Fillmore wants to take away dedicated bus lanes by opening them up to “high occupancy vehicles” (HOV).
That’s any vehicle with just 2+ people! 🚗🛻🚚🚙🚗🛻🚚💨

The mayor said he believes moving ahead with high-occupancy (HOV) lanes could help the municipality take control of its own roadways and planning.

So much stigma and families often feel they can't talk about it as they will be judged.
Families do everything they can but pain and addiction are hard to overcome.
So beautifully written and the truth it surfaces sets us all free to show kindness and grace.

This week I read another obituary from the same area - for someone with the same addiction who died young too - and it doesn’t mention their pain at all.

You must read this obituary.

There are so many similar stories in our city.
Be kind to people. You don't know their story.

So the government of Nova Scotia has mandated that anyone working from home must return to the office by April 20th. Businesses downtown are crying because a couple of thousand people aren’t clogging up the city. Traffic in the HRM is about to get crazy again. Good luck!

Sigh. I’m looking for buddies in my area, Colchester County, NS. (Stewiake to Truro ) I’d love to have a few friends to discuss books, politics, history etc. I cannot exist solely on Muscato and which scent of Mr Clean is my favourite and how to untangle a dead raccoon from a gear box.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the students, teachers, parents, community members, and anyone, really, who was affected by the Tumbler Ridge tragedy. Take care of each other, and the rest of us will keep you in our thoughts.

Our schools remain caring, supportive spaces, and help is available.

It's pretty outside, if you can watch from indoors or go for a walk.
Don't drive if you can avoid it.
It's not pretty for driving right now.

You might want to contact your councilor and let them know that people with disabilities deserve good transit and this ain't it.
Rip access a bus expansion, first casualty of low taxes this year (can still be added back)

Do not blame the entire trans community for the actions of one.

Why has there never been a headline "Straight, cisgender, white man commits crime"?

Speaking of betting, you know the expression dollars to donuts?

You can't say that anymore. Donuts are more than a dollar each so the donut person is actually taking the bigger risk.

This morning in a news story they said Truro is northeast of Halifax.
I checked maps, they're right.

But it's on the way to NB which is definitely west of us.

No sense of direction. I was so confident that the reporter misspoke, I would have bet money on it.
This is a good time to mention, I have no sense of direction, and when I think of Nova Scotia, I think of it as pointing north and south lengthwise, when it is actually northeast and southwest. I'll be right about Yarmouth and CB, but everything in between is subject to my incorrect interpretation.

Again I ask:
We have science, equipment, computer modeling, trained professionals-why are we waking rodents from their slumber, to ask what the weather will be?
Also, if you toss out all of that and you want to go with shadows; humans cast shadows. Just look down. Leave the groundhog alone.
