I’d love to see journalism exploring the mass deletion of SWs off X in conjunction with the rise of grok’s porn bots. There’s a certain tech bro fantasy of AI as a tool of economic deprivation against SWs. The deep resentment at the financial independence of online SW seems to have come to a head.

Three officers complied with the subpoenas and six did not.

What happens next?

[Hint: probably nothing]

Boston’s police oversight agency issued subpoenas to officers with misconduct allegations. Only three complied. - The Boston Globe
It remains to be seen how OPAT will respond to the officers who didn’t comply with its subpoenas.

Oh wow I'm pissed off about the police oversight thing.

Even in Somerville, the city that even the People's Republic of Cambridge sometimes looks at like "bro, find your chill!" ... we can't be troubled to establish civilian oversight of our police department.

Not even here.

I'm so pissed off about the lack of progress on civilian oversight of the police since June of 2020, when then and still councilor Mbah put forward a -very- clear resolution co-sponsored by every other then councilor.

And yet ... nothing.

Nice to know that I can still feel rage, right?

Since municipal sidewalk snow removal isn't in the pipeline, I would like the city to at least make it clear that part of property owners' responsibility includes clearing public benches and bike racks on their frontage.

I will not be so gentle. I am furious about the utter stonewalling we've seen, as well as the complete lack of accountability and transparency.

I will be relentless about this.

Apparently only 4 families took advantage of this last year.

Pleeeeaaase can we move crossing guards out of the police organization?

Being part of the cops is the kind of thing that discourages some of the kind of civic minded people inclined to do this job from wanting to apply.
Item 4.16: "That the Director of Human Resources review the hiring for crossing guards, ensuring that the process and requirements are right-sized and not unnecessarily burdensome such that they deter qualified candidates."

I might show up for this committee meeting. Sounds like some dirt.
