When people say they don’t like Stevie Wonder…

my response is usually which Stevie Wonder?

There have been at least 4 Stevie Wonders

And all of them kinda perfect

I think we'd have to go to "Name a film you've seen 28 times" before I could whittle the list down to a dozen or two.

for better or worse, this will probably be the most successful and compelling argument by communities against ICE concentration camps being built:

One of my favorite themes of the Harley Quinn cartoon is Poison Ivy regularly pointing out it doesn’t make any sense that she’s considered a villain.

Worth the wait!
I hate "Wuthering Heights" - and it baffles me because there are elements of it that could have been amazing IF Fennell had just made her own story and detached it from a classic.

Stop comparing it to Romeo+Juliet, this one refuses to go all-in on anything, and that makes it dull.

My review:
"Wuthering Heights" (2026) Review: A Vapid Reimagined Classic Made For TikTok Clips
Emerald Fennell's latest, "Wuthering Heights," trades in gothic storytelling for pastel dreams and a pedestrian affair.

"The Legend of Luis Valdez" Illuminates Chicano History (and Its Limitations)
Even if there’s not room for more nuance, at least "American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez" can help more people learn Chicano history.

The Cuellar campaign sent me a fundraising spam text earlier this week and it made me livid
I fucking knew it was Cuellar when I saw the vote count
The vote passed on partisan lines, with only Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar voting for the legislation, and will face an uphill battle in the Senate.

So it’s a race: how quickly can a person’s family realize they were snatched and find a lawyer, and how quickly can that lawyer get a habeas petition of file? And is that faster than ICE can load the detainee on a plane to Texas?

It’s exhausting and terrifying. It can be life and death.

On the one hand, the new guy reading the questions at trivia has difficulty pronouncing big words/names which makes it harder to understand the questions. On the other, my team is somehow scoring better than we ever have? We've placed second two times in a row now 🤔

shutting down all service (*all* service) to a regional airport for ten days with no advance notice to anyone is pretty nuts
The airspace over El Paso airport, Texas, has been suddenly closed by the FAA for ten days, closing the airport too. The airspace has been defined as "National Defence Airspace". Nobody knows why.
