If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

The lack of pushback by Gavin on Kirks framing of gender affirming care for trans youth is even more worrying than the sports stuff. Saying you gotta be “sensitive” after someone calls life changing medical care mutilation tells me you’re ready to capitulate on a lot more.

A few years (2016-2017 I can’t remember) back I attended a talk from Susan Stryker. After the talk ended I went and thanked her for her work. And then I asked what she would recommend young trans people do to prepare. She told me, kindly and straightforwardly, that it’s going to get bad.
