I have some thoughts about women - of all ages - leaving evangelicalism. 🧵

First of all, of course they are! I wrote about how women have spent the last two decades (and really longer) calling out alienating, unbiblical evangelical rhetoric and politics. 1/x www.baylorpress.com/978148131893...

sometimes, pettiness is resistance
Small act of resistance: I always take the treadmills in front of the fox news tvs at the gym so the people who actually want to watch them can't see them as easily.

Guys, I'm beginning to think there's a problem with evil. I'm tentatively calling it "the problem of evil."

Has anyone thought about this??

We, Minnesota, woke up and woke others up to exactly what Trump's DHS is and who is responsible for it. The war won't end today, but we have to celebrate this. We will not let them turn the US into the Fourth Reich and now they, and we, know it.

To have one ICE employee arrested in in a Bloomington, MN underage sex trafficking sting may be regarded as a misfortune; to have two looks like carelessness.
This is the second time an ICE employee has been arrested in in a Bloomington, MN underage sex trafficking sting www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...
Police in Bloomington, MN just announced that one of the guys they arrested in an underage sex trafficking sting was a **background checker for ICE agents.**

He had a high security clearance in the Trump administration... and he was caught trying to abuse children. Sickening.

Trump's currently polling at like 40% approval, which is a huge drop from early 2025.

But to put it in perspective, W went from 90% right after 9/11 to 19% in 2008. In light of that, 40% is amateur numbers.

I believe in us America, we may take our time but we have it in us to go the distance 🫡

This week my students read some of the autobiography of Mother Jones, maybe the og of nice ladies
Actually a whole lot of stuff going back to the environmental justice movements and back further to the abolitionists is nice ladies. It's kind of nice ladies all the way down. (Not all ladies are nice, not all nice people are ladies; insert 4000-word qualifier here.)

And here's a secret of the past decade: a lot of the crucial organizing/resistance work is done by women who look like nice mom-type ladies, often suburban variety, sometimes through nice organizations like churches. Sorry if anyone needs it to look like Che Guevara.
