70% of the additional spending from removing the two-child limit will go to families who are in work. This is targeting support for low-income working households who are being priced out of a decent standard of living despite doing everything asked of them.

In 30years I have never been this upset with the continued words coming out of Govt

This includes a plethora of Tory Health Secretaries

I am not part of BMA leadership, just a GP who gives up his time freely to advocate for patients, the NHS & make sure the facts are correct

Huge news from the UK today: after UN climate talks in which there was a massive fight over language on fossil fuels, the UK government today announced that it will in fact be keeping many millions of barrels of oil & gas in the ground. Deeds rather than just words for a change! 🧵

Scrapping the two-child limit shows this government is serious about child poverty, lifting 350,000 children above the poverty line overnight. Poverty can affect every aspect of a child’s present and future life, and hundreds of thousands of lives have been changed for the better today.

There is no substitute for practical experience. You can't learn medicine without doing medicine - in the real world, examining patients, interrogating your own decision making. NHS England need a reality check.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances. A new decade-long Brexit study explains it: a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.
