Going to start a thread of Things Americans are Doing to Fight Back, when it comes to the Trump administration. I want to show people outside the US that some people ARE resisting. Sometimes in court, sometimes protests, sometimes by other means. Here we go:
Tangential: UK roads are basically extended car parks nowadays. I don't understand how the car-brained Facebook commenters don't see it. My very short commute is elongated only for the one-way systems created by cars parked on main roads. But heaven forbid cyclists hold up a car for a few seconds.
This is quite amusing: Business owner bills Lime £7,600 over parking row, after seizing e-bikes left on his property and taking operator to court. But also makes me think of all the "lost revenue" that councils could collect from cars parked on pavements.

BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

Infuriating.
Obscene that the government can so badly fail its own citizens.

Not to mention - as a small aside - the astronomical waste of taxpayer dollars to move anyone in detention for 24 days to no less than 5 different facilities.

Who is making money from all this nonsense?

The US could've had this leader.
New: Sen. Elizabeth Warren lays out vision for a 'big tent,' telling Democrats not to cater to wealthy donors

In an unusual move, she calls out figures in the party she considers part of the problem — including the DSCC, Kyrsten Sinema and Reid Hoffman.

UK has X/Twitter but not Imgur 🙃
Barely anyone is going to see this, but if you’ve ever asked why X isn’t banned in the UK yet despite creating CSAM, it’s because the US government has enforced a worldwide policy of blackmail protecting the American tech oligarchy. It’s why TikTok can be banned but X cannot.
“Why can’t we have any regulations for US tech in Britain?”

Because the US trade rep has gone to every country including Britain and said if we regulate tech in a way that favours our people, industries and national interests, the US will bury us in tariffs and ruin our economy.

Amazon's AI subtitles are horrendous. Watching 'Death Comes to Pemberley' and at one point the young son has subtitles words of "I like to eat sh*t"

This is a BBC production, for Pete's sake.

Also: Turns out the Trump administration accidentally misunderstood a Venezuelan slang term ("cartel de los Soles," slang for drug corruption in the military) to be an *actual* cartel, and then declared that this fake cartel was a terrorist organization led by Maduro

So in the incidence in June 2025, the ICE agent used a taser. But in January 2026, when it wasn't even the person they were trying to get, a passerby in their way that they have to go arojnd, a person who wasn't a criminal in any way, the agent uses a gun.
Star Tribune has identified the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good as JONATHAN ROSS after DHS head Kristi Noem exposed details about a separate incident he was involved in during today’s press conference in NYC

Except Machado wasn't elected and Gonzalez was.

Machado's party and candidate had international recognition as winners of the 2024 election and the party should have support from the international community now.

But kidnapping a head of state doesn't remove the system. Venezuela is not free. Yet.
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

Love Vancouver. Love the West End.
Vancouver’s West End is the densest neighbourhood in Canada. Its mix of housing includes lots of apartment towers.

I highly recommend anyone who thinks tall buildings ruin neighbourhoods to visit. It really is a nice experience.
