My main concern with Newsom is that something is going to have to be done about Silicon Valley in 2029 (ideally after they've been cut down to more manageable size with an AI bubble burst) and he very obviously does not have that in him.

Separate from getting the legal standard wrong, the notion that it's *the Government's ability to make arrests* that is "protected" under the Fourth Amendment makes me want to throw something
DHS getting basic 4th Amendment law wrong on its official Twitter account.

Seems like this post is bound to show up as an exhibit in one of the cases challenging ICE/Border Control enforcement actions.

I'm sure everyone will be SHOCKED to hear that the videos do not show the whole "people came out and attacked ICE with snow shovels" thing that ICE claimed was what happened. This was not a remotely defensive gunshot.

Wait. The CDC closed its FOIA office?!?
How sad is this? The CDC closed its FOIA office, so this story could only be published because a Danish journalist provided Rolling Stone with the documents, after obtaining them through a freedom of information request to the University of Southern Denmark

Been very cold but Somali restaurant offers us delicious, warm tea constantly.

Members expressed much gratitude & confidence this ugly time will pass.
Talked to a Somali man today who said his mosque last night was surrounded by neighbors ready to protect them against ICE if needed. Made me feel proud to live in this city.

They placed her and her five year old daughter in a hotel and told them not to contact anyone.
