This new war in Venezuela is deeply corrupt.

I will never vote to send someone’s son or daughter to war to make oil executives richer.

The United States Congress has the Constitutional power and the patriotic duty to stop this insanity immediately, for the good of all Conservative and Liberal Americans’ future.
Trump in a single gaggle on Air Force One just threatened:

-- a second strike against Venezuela
-- Cuba
-- Mexico
-- Colombia
-- Iran
-- Greenland (which in turn would be an attack on the EU and Denmark)

So we conducted regime change with no clear plan for what happens after. Seems like we’ve done this a few times before.

THREAD: Viral misinformation on US capture of Nicolas Maduro - 4 January

This video, shared by Alex Jones and others, falsely claims to show millions of Venezuelans in Caracas celebrating Maduro's capture.

In fact, it shows anti-Maduro protests in July 2024 over a highly disputed election.

Q: Rodriguez called it a 'kidnapping' of Maduro

TRUMP: That's alright. That's not a bad term.

Ask the DAMN QUESTION
TRUMP: Colombia is very sick too. Run by a sick man who likes making cocaine and selling it to the US, and he's not gonna be doing it very long

Q: So there's will be an operation by the US in Colombia?

TRUMP: Sounds good to me

I still don’t understand how it could possibly be a violation of U.S. law for a foreign head of state to own or to conspire to own any type of gun in his own country.
So a lot of the charges against Maduro are either cocaine importation, which Trump pardoned Hernandez for, or owning machine guns, which is a constitutionally protected right in the US

40 people were killed.
The notion that the US military incursion into Venezuela and seizure of its leader wasn't a use of force under int'l law b/c it was a "law enforcement operation" is absurd.

In prior US military-LE capture ops abroad, USG definitely viewed such actions as uses of force under int'l law.

This is so fucking reckless and dangerous, I just can’t.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), run by Oz and his boss, RFK Jr., will no longer require physicians to report vaccination rates.

Instead, they plan to start having doctors report if they’ve discussed “alternative” vaccine schedules.
CMS to stop requiring states to report childhood vaccination levels

Welcome to the new world:
This video, viewed millions of times on TikTok, Facebook and X, claims to show Venezuelans taking to the street to thank the US for detaining Maduro.

But the video is a combination of four AI-generated clips and was first posted on TikTok by a user who frequently shares AI videos. It's not real.

In any event, it can't be unleashed properly for years and years because Chavez and Maduro zeroed out essential infrastructure investment until their pumps literally stopped working.
If you're a 38 millennial like everyone else in BlueSky, the politics and economy of oil prices are completely inverted than what you grew up with. Unleashing Venezuelan oil into global markets would drop the price even further. This is now *bad* for US energy companies!

"It is completely pointless to talk about the US seizing Greenland. USA has no right to annex any of the three countries that make up the Danish Realm.

Greenland and its people have made it clear they are not for sale and called on Washington to stop threatening people."

What are the odds one of the accounts on WhiteDate belongs to a White House staffer?

Yeah, people are fixating on a Cabinet Secretary being given a sovereign country to run because the president waged war without congressional approval and kidnapped the old leader. Weird that they’d get hung up on that.
