This is an accidentally honest answer. What she's saying in code is:
"The President is a misogynist, petulant bully. You've all seen him be a misogynist, petulant bully. And lots of voters out there are also misogynist or petulant or bullies and that's why they like him."
Q: What did the president mean when he called a reporter "piggy"?

LEAVITT: Look, the president is very frank & honest with everyone in this room. You'll all seen it yourself. You've all experienced it yourselves. And I think it's one of the many reasons the American people reelected this president

Use Rule IX for an impeachment vote. When it fails, do it again. And again. And again. Deny every unanimous consent. Appeal every point of order including ones you just made up. Make every vote be recorded. Be unruly and disorderly. Call Johnson a scumbag traitor on the floor, and then keep going.

Those 29% are basically just saying “I like Donald Trump.”

If the question had been ‘POTUS has outlawed the color lilac and says eating belly button fluff cures leukemia, do you agree?” you’d have gotten pretty much the same %.
Only 29% of Americans support using the U.S. military to kill suspected drug traffickers without a judge or court being involved, a rebuke of President Donald Trump's strikes in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific Ocean, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found.

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

Trying to figure out what #SCOTUS just did with #SNAP, and why Justice Jackson temporarily froze the district court's ruling?

Via "One First," me on what's going on—and why I think Jackson's move was savvy, notwithstanding the awful circumstances that forced it:

We have a GM EV, and I use CarPlay a fair amount to listen to books, etc. No way I'm going to use GM's software — let alone pay extra for it. That'll assuredly be a factor in deciding on our next EV.

If your government thinks the Pope “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” when he defends migrants’ dignity, the world should see the warning sign. The US is no longer leading on human rights. It’s suppressing them.

After 13 years in the US, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave. Having packed up everything and rethought about priorities, rather painstakingly, while I’m sad to leave the life I’ve made here, I’m also relieved that I won’t have to plan my life around immigration policies anymore.

Whole gag in Garry Trudeau's short-lived sitcom "Alpha House" of a Reagan impersonator performing at a GOP Senate retreat. They're all lathered up for red meat, and the impersonator only delivers quotes saying nice things about immigration, etc.

Only a broken nation, with a broken political system, could put this person in power. Only a populace - the people who voted for him AND the people who didn’t - divided, afraid, uninformed, and lacking in human understanding & empathy could put this person in power.
Trump: "They cheated on a commercial. Ronald Reagan loved tariffs and they said he didn't. And I guess it was AI or something. They cheated badly. Canada got caught cheating on a commercial. Can you believe it?"

The amount is meaningless — less than one day of salary. But the principle is important: once the armed services are paid by the oligarchs, they become a private militia, and we no longer have a country.

Never mind every other single abominable or corrupt thing to this miserable moment, the extrajudicial and unevidenced execution of 34 human beings by the U.S. Navy on the orders of a U.S. President acting in peacetime is sufficient for his impeachment and conviction.

If we were a republic, I mean.

It would be perfectly ok for Congress to overturn the Supreme Court's made-up-from-whole-cloth decision granting Trump immunity, strip courts' jurisdiction to review the legislation, and then prosecute Trump and jail him. The check on abuse is political--either Americans agree or they don't.

I know it's vanishingly unlikely this cop will face any consequences for this egregiously unnecessary use of force, but I think it's important that we keep pointing out how ILLEGAL this all is anyway. It's happening so often people might just... assume otherwise. Don't let them normalize this.
Either the police are mighty and fearless warriors, or they’re scared enough of a sassy 20-something woman to unload a canister of pepper spray in her face from 2 feet away, but they cannot be both.
