Tom Quinn back to wrap up loose ends after a call from Harry in the penultimate scene of Spooks was very satisfying
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

Shirley is not in the mood for it at all ❄️🐱
Shirley is staying inside to watch the snow after experiencing it outside for the first time, leaving it to her brother Warren to lose his tiny mind and run around the garden screaming.

nothing can stop Warren's garden business 😸

rewatching Whiplash and forgot how stressful it is
a bald man says not quite my tempo in a dark room
Alt: go-to bald guy J K Simmons as Terence Fletcher in Whiplash saying 'Not quite my tempo.'

did a rewatch in the wrong order, it should be The Big Short first and Margin Call second, regardless it's still the best financial double-bill

at college my politics lecturer said that nine times out of ten if things weren't so great domestically a leader would start fucking around abroad in the affairs of other countries, that seems apt today

just watched Relay, a pretty neat thriller with a good hook and a twist that worked fine to wrap things up...Riz Ahmed is always good and delivers as a very efficient fixer/negotiator, Lily James does what's required as does Sam Worthington, 3.5 out of 5, higher had they gone for a smarter ending 📽🎥
December 31, 2025 at 12:57 AM
just watched The Holdovers, a really charming odd couple meets coming of age with a sprinkling of class commentary...incredibly funny in parts, touching in others, and really captures another side of early 70s America we don't see so much, a strong 4 out of 5 📽🎥
