just watched Locked, it was alright, some interesting themes but nothing new or radical...Skarsgard is good as a petty thief and general useless but harmless kind of guy, Hopkins is great as a sadistic, bitter and horrible old man...3 out of 5 📽🎥

we've been giving big ginger a bowl of kibble every now and then, Ozzy's owner got him an outdoor cabin and has been giving him feeds as well, and now our neighbour messaged us asking if he was ours as he was staring them out through their double glazed door and it looks like they might take him on!

rewatched Severance and it holds up pretty well; the setup is good, the cast are fine, some funny moments, a couple of good horror-ish/gore bits, and a very silly final chase to wrap it all up in under 100 minutes...3.5 out of 5 📽🎥

so this is in the additional options for posts of people I don't follow in some of the curated feeds built by individuals - I got the impression bsky was limiting this to their in-house feeds, or is it something the feed builders can toggle on/off because I don't see it on all of the custom ones?

rewatched The Truman Show for the first time in about 25 years and it holds up so well...the main alt-modern 1950s set means little of it dates, Carrey, Harris and Linney are all great, there's next to nothing you'd change, a solid satire well worth 103 minutes of your time, 4 out of 5 📽🎥

just watched Free Fire, an action packed chamber piece...mostly fun with a couple of very Ben Wheatley touches (Sam Riley's demise lol) everyone's having a ball, Sharlto Copley as a South African gun runner was the standout for me in this ensemble, 3.5 out of 5 📽🎥

just watched Last Straw...the poster suggests horror but this is just a fucked up drama with stabbings and a meat hammer...the motivations were fine but the structure took me right out of whatever was going on; it looks fine and everyone is trying their best but it's a disappointment, 2 out of 5 📽🎥

watched [🔴REC] a top tier found footage horror...the initial set up is so simple and almost charming that you won't guess what's coming; excellent pacing, the jump scares come at perfect moments, the entire cast so believable and Manuela Velasco in the lead is brilliant, 4 out of 5 📽🎥
