This stuff isn’t complicated, we built a country that is a cult of exceptionalism/individualism, and most voters have no fixed values other than oppositional defiant disorder. Their lives aren’t as perfect as they imagine they could be therefore the status quo of the moment needs to be burned down.

It hardly matters that the lesbian and ELIC gay movement is opposed to the sexual abuse of children, and that it is in fact the Catholic Church that is at risk of bankruptcy after paying reparations to all the children it has abused over decades.' Haunted by its own abuse of children, the Church externalizes the origin of child abuse, attributing it to sexual and gender minorities who have for the most part thought carefully about matters of consent, defended the actions of consenting adults within the law, and fought for social freedoms on the street. The Church thus ignores the fact that it has lost all standing to articulate this objection. It commits a moral error of gross proportion by projecting and externalizing the specter of its own abusive history onto sexual and gender minorities as a way of making others responsible for its own crimes.
