Absolutely no way to read this and not conclude that the Department of Justice has been deeply corrupted. And this is from a time when career lawyers were in place, pushing back against illegality. With firings and resignations, the politicization will just get worse.

The concept of whiteness as "deputized" (h/t W.E.B. DuBois) is important for understanding the current moment.

The story of a college student calling ICE on service workers is not an aberration.

CBS is the network that paid Trump $16m. CBS is the network owned by the Ellisons. CBS is the network that failed to push back in its 60 Minutes interview of Trump.

Of course, CBS is asking questions like this to House Democrats.
Margaret Brennan to Tom Suozzi: "Can you explain the focus this past week in the House by Democrats on the Jeffrey Epstein files? Is this a tactic to distract from the failure to extract healthcare changes?"

I agree that the disagreements about education stem from lack of understanding of its true value and purpose, and I believe the true purpose of our education system is much more than the purposes described here.
A lot of education discourse is at root an inability to decide whether the purpose of our education system is to 1) teach material and measure learning 2) reward students who work hard 3) separate the smart kids (destined for smart guy jobs) from the dumb kids (destined to serve the smart guys)

Lots of hard, shitty lessons being learned from this presidency. And one of the many I hope you're learning is, white supremacy is incompatible with reality, and cannot exist without historical revisionism.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️
