Going over my "day before book release" checklist as I slowly mutate into a rabid trash panda, as one does. I'm too feral for human company at the moment, so I'm going to log off and watch some My Little Pony. No, that is not a euphemism.

Voting ends tomorrow! I'm delighted by the serious reader debate about who to kill first, because these dudes are all terribly loathsome and hard to choose from lol.
Patrons! The first chapter of Elis's new novella is live. Read at any time but if you want to help choose which awful man she's going to target, vote by Monday! www.patreon.com/posts/throw-...

"But if what Hart is doing doesn't really work, why do you care?" Because it fucks new authors. Once readers realize that there are AI grifters swarming the shop and changing their pen names every time they get caught, EVERY brand-new name becomes suspect.
February 8, 2026 at 3:48 PM
This entire thread. Courtney IS going to win. Also please let me point out how little Hart understands about publishing or writing (same for the dipshits at the NYT who gave this grifter a platform.)
I'm going to win.

You’re not crazy. The anti-trans movement is not organic; it was funded by pedophilic billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein who backed a network of conservatives to accuse the same people they were sexually abusing of being the real danger. @madycast.com exposes the truth in our in-depth report.

some of my happiest creative moments have happened while I was trying something I knew I’d be bad at, at least initially
A small but very deep thing that bothers me about generative AI as a shortcut to practice and work and skill is the basic assumption that it’s impossible to take pleasure in a creative pursuit that you aren’t very good at and I assure you that is not the case

Look, a lot of folks have already put it better than me, but - AI sucks. It's not "democratizing" art, it's just further hoarding resources to enrich the horrible, child-molesting few

Pick up a pencil. Type something. Sing

Do it badly 'til you learn to do it goodly

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

NGL, I'm utterly terrified of going in for colon-cancer screening but the possibility of getting drugs that are better than I can legally buy is doing a lot of work to defray that.
The prep is terrible but the drugs they give you are good so it evens out.
Hello Bluesky user—are you, yes you, approaching 50?

Well, I have some bad news and some good news: you are at increased risk of dying a horrible painful death from colon cancer—BUT—there is something you can do to prevent it!

Yes, you should schedule your colonoscopy today!

Okay, so bigots are big mad that (the utterly gorgeous) Lupita Nyong'o has been cast as Helen of Troy. I have a solution. In many accounts, Helen was the daughter of Queen Leda, and was impregnated by Zeus in the form of a swan. Helen literally hatched from an egg. Soooo...we make Helen an anthro.

The manuscripts for the third Castaways novel and the first Neon Meridian novel have been delivered to Susannah Jones for recording. We're having dinner tomorrow night and I'm not sure what kind of apology gift to bring.

If you think pro wrestling is a right-wing redneck thing, I cordially invite you to join us at AEW, where the entire arena erupted in a "FUCK ICE" chant on Wednesday. Pro wrestling is for everybody.
Stereotypes suck.

Wrestling fans aren’t all “rednecks.” We’re queer, trans, theater kids, disabled folks, people of all ages and backgrounds.

We're a bunch of proud AEW sickos.

If you love wrestling, you’re part of us.

Helpful cooking tip: if you want to make dinner in a slow cooker, it's a good idea to remember to turn the slow cooker ON. Just a random tip, totally unrelated to a thing I just discovered two minutes ago.

"actually his stuff was very Derivative and not Original" like, you don't have to do this. it is good for us all to sit with the cognitive dissonance that a very bad person can make very good art. it is good for us to work through the moral ramifications of that.
