So, @wyden.senate.gov, @merkley.senate.gov, @bynum.house.gov, @salinas.house.gov, @repdexteror.bsky.social...

You can't reform this. You can't bring this to heel. You can't scold out depravity. You can only burn it out. Any other measure is collaboration.

Sorry, but this is where we are.

Because the Dodgers went bankrupt, MLB agreed to tax their TV money as if they were still a broke.

That lets the Dodgers keep about $66 million more every year than they otherwise would.

This exception runs through 2039, according to a league source. youtu.be/7xPt9AuxEAM

This video filmed by Ben Luhmann shows the moment a federal agent sprayed chemical irritants directly into a man's face in south Minneapolis.

Three agents already had the man pinned to the ground when a fourth agent walked up and sprayed the irritants.

“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”

“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” #CityMakingMath

Some costs aren’t costs.
One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss
Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

ICE could be considered Trump's alternative to sending in the National Guard, which SCOTUS didn't think was too legal. Now he has a personal army of Americans that either agree with his authoritarian rule, or just don't care, as long as the get paid. 🗽

On January 10, participants in a march in Oakland smashed 47 windows at the federal building and covered it with spray paint as a way to identify it as a base of local ICE operations.

While ICE is focused on the Twin Cities, actions elsewhere can spread their attention thin and inspire resistance.

Last year, centrists were arguing that Democrats should adopt extreme-right anti-immigrant positions to keep up with what they claimed was the tide of public opinion.

Now nearly half of the population agrees that ICE should be outright abolished.

ICE has only existed since March 2003, by the way.

Pritzker: The Insurrection Act is designed for circumstances where your rights can’t be protected by local authorities

This is exactly the opposite.

Your civil rights are being infringed upon by CBP and ICE, and then they want to call in troops claiming that they’re protecting CBP and ICE.

Racism isn’t just slurs or insults. It’s systems and decisions that consistently deny marginalized communities access to power, opportunity, stability, and dignity — often while pretending to be “neutral.” That’s what we’re actually talking about.

Naming it isn't divisive. Ignoring it is.

Your regular reminder that there is no legal path from martial law to suspending elections in this country.

That doesn't mean there is no path. It just means that we need to reject the framing that the federal government has any legal authority to cease elections.
