Are we at the point where folks are still terrified of mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid)? It remains the most effective and rapid vaccine response to a novel pathogen we have in our arsenal.

If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from your local sheriff’s office, it might be a scam.

Your sheriff’s office will never contact you to ask for money for bail, for missing jury duty, or for not obeying a court summons.

former prosecutors-turned-defense lawyers with one *hell* of an axe to grind are absolutely going to be a thing in the coming years
The Star Tribune reports that former acting U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson, in one of his first acts since joining private practice, will be representing Don Lemon.

The emails in my inbox emphasize: nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed. All eyes should still be on Minnesota.
Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

Donald Trump’s DOJ just tried—and failed—to indict me in front of a grand jury.

We will continue to fight back against their rising tyranny.

"Here, finally, is a worthy use of the NIMBY impulse that is so easy to activate for worse reasons." Friends, you can use that. I highly recommend going full Karen for the right reasons.
When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

the bad Bunny show was so wholesome i found it a little boring tbh. i can't imagine the kind of wimp you have to be to find anything in there offensive.
Rep Mark Alford (R-MO) says House Rs are "investigating" Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show & talking with FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr. Alford says he didn't watch the whole thing & also doesn't know Spanish but suspects it might have been "much worse than the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction"

So the feds ARE NOT considering an mRNA vaccine for the flu, which could save countless lives, but ARE backing research into whether horse dewormer can cure cancer, because the right views vaccines as elite and ivermectin as populist.

Cool.

This is unreal and flies in the face of public health.
“Moderna, revealing the rejection, took the unusual step of releasing the letter it had received from Vinay Prasad… and issued a strongly worded statement from its CEO, who said the decision “does not further our shared goal of enhancing America’s leadership in developing innovative medicines.”
