This is really worth the read. As a practical example, Starbucks workers may want to strike temporarily for better conditions, not to stop the entire world from buying lattes forever. They want a healthy, sustainable work environment to return to, not a poisoned wasteland
It's similar to how random Americans will sometimes demand a general strike, but not give even a second's thought to the kind of organization you need to help people strike, and then survive while striking.

I think that the government should get off X, sure, but that seems the least of it and it’s weird that that’s all we’re talking about; I also think X should be banned in the UK and its leadership up on criminal charges. Can we talk about that?
