through this evening we’ve been listening to Miles Davis and John Coltrane from 1960 - honestly earlier than I usually prefer my Miles, but he’s in fine form here. I’m sure already sick of playing “So What” because he’s pushing the tempo like he’s trying to get the last toothpaste out of the tube.

I watched “Where’s Papa?” again a while back - many years ago - and was surprised that I amazingly did not remember the whole thing ends with >ahem< an extended slapstick sequence built around a rape in Central Park. maybe not going to be hitting the Criterion Collection anytime soon.
my mom was a huge Segal fan ever since “Where’s Papa?” so this was destination viewing for us as a family, and it was gone in a heartbeat even though it was great.
(now, as for “Where’s Papa?” - that is a movie that has aged - shall we say - less than gracefully …)
