Hello new followers! Just to say hello, I’m Neill, I write and draw comics. Often about robots. Increasingly about donuts. Here is one I made earlier!
‘AI’ in its current form is not only worthless as an information technology, it has managed the impressive feat of rendering all other information technologies worthless, as far back as the printing press. I think going back to illuminated manuscripts is really our only option at this point.

“The left is missing out on AI!” YEP. Most of us want to miss out! If it ever proves its actual usefulness to our actual lives, stops plagiarizing, and is no longer an environmental disaster, maybe we revisit. Burden of proof is on the industry. So far they’ve done the opposite of that!

Sorry to get radical but I don’t think it’s my job or yours to embrace, accept, understand - and certainly not to use - the thing being sold to us as AI. I don’t like any part of it, so I won’t. I’m missing out? Good, that’s what I want. You’re worried about me missing out? That’s fuckin weird, man.

Things You Should Have Done season two is on. If you haven’t seen Things You Should Have Done you should see it. It’s yet another bbc comedy gem which often slips under the radar.

Every now and then when I get to hang out with comics artist pals, the conversation will inevitably turn to MIKE MIGNOLA, SERIOUSLY, HOW???
Also, do you know which of Mignola's comic panels have excellent composition?

All of them.

Somehow a perfect description of why I love the Winter Olympics so much 🤷
Summer Olympics: who can run the fastest, jump the highest, throw the furthest

Winter Olympics: Who can polish the ice the best for ice-bowling. Who can fit an entire person between their ass cheeks on this ice luge

Thanks for having me Lincoln! Incredibly fun day at the Waterstones Children’s Book Festival, drawing donuts with 700-odd delightfully demented children. Thanks to all the organizers, and to all who came along! 🍩🎉🫠

Doing a big schools event this morning and I tend to get a little stressed before these things so I thought I’d watch the curling for a bit to relax.

…the curling has not been relaxing.

On this day and on all days I’d just like to give thanks to libraries - the most wonderful institutions human culture has produced - and to librarians, the best and dare I say most stylish individuals.

Really enjoying the MF Doom documentary podcast on BBC Sounds. Not least because it led me to this beautiful thing I’d never heard, Doom performing with a live band on Loose Ends with Clive Anderson 🤯 youtu.be/7bfMQteuzLE?...

always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay

Mia Brookes absolutely amazing in the big air. It’s a shame she didn’t pull off that last landing but I can’t even be sad, I just think it’s so fucking cool that she went for it.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
