The Zubac / Post matchup tonight will be interesting. A good measure of how much QP has progressed so far this year.

(disclaimer - I feel like Post will surpass Zubac in the near future. Could be setting myself up for disappointment.)

this pretty much sums up the current situation.
Is Green getting traded? No. But he's becoming a symbol of the ailing dynasty

> The question now isn’t whether Green still cares - no one could reasonably doubt that - but whether that edge can still be harnessed productively.

Preview: Warriors and Clippers facing similar issues & opportunities
Trades could shake up both of these teams teetering on relevance

Warriors win 6 of the last 8 games. All I see is complaints from the fan base about this, that, or the other thing. smh.

Reconsider becoming a journalist, you probably don't want to Douthat.

A word I should have learned decades ago:

dromography - the comparative study of organization, history, geography, and logistics of local, regional, and global trade routes and other movement, transportation, and communication networks.

putting stephen miller, pete hegseth and peter thiel in the same season of america is narrative overkill, what do you mean the corrupt despotic emperor is being controlled in his decline by a scheming eunuch vizier, a violently paranoid general AND an evil wizard enthralled by a cursed amulet?

started singing and a crow chimed in.

Yes, I was cawed in the act.
Start singing right now, doesn't matter if you use intelligible words or not, or even random sounds, as long as it's making music with your mouth.

Now that you've got your eels, what else do you need? An eel stang or four.

" I am so tired of being afraid of our community…"

You're afraid of the community because you use AI? The way people react is "scary"? Give me a break.

Thesis - anyone who defines themselves as a "content producer" isn't worth reading.

lots of ideas in the thread, but I'd do the complete Neveryona cycle. IF I still had the job after that I might do the Virtual Light trilogy, or I might do Joanna Russ's Alyx stories.
OK, less contentious post:

You've been placed in charge of a movie studio, and have an unlimited budget to adapt any work of your choosing that has never been made into a live-action TV series or film. What are you picking?

For me: PC Hodgell's Kencyrath Cycle and there's no close second

Would you believe me if I told you Mark Cuban didn’t want a peer reviewed answer to his question from the top medical journal
Mr. Cuban, I'm a professor at Yale School of Public Health. Here's a paper published by one of my colleagues in the top medical journal evaluating the Medicare for All Act, which would not only get us there, but would save $450B per year. Happy to discuss! www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

am reminded for no good reason of a Con room party in Long Beach decades ago, passing a spliff with a couple of (unnamed) writers while Larry Niven wandered through looking like Little Red Riding Hood in his scarlet cape.

OMFG, this is amazing. A foot-treadled Singer sewing machine hooked to a Hurdy Gurdy with a mute (so he can play notes instead of the steady drone of the typical hurdy gurdy) using a theremin as a volume flange. I was instantly transported back to childhood watching David Hasselhoff talk to his car.

The Navy will build a new Frigate class. This image shows one (1) battleship and a bunch of frigates. As you can see, a frigate is definitely not a battleship.
