My pet reform to the White House press pool would be half the seats rotate to random citizens, a lottery or whatever. Questions alternate between randos and pros. Even if you get some real weirdos, that's America. But I don't doubt which group would produce more useful and newsworthy exchanges.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

A Senate promise isn't worth shit.

Even if, *if,* Johnson was willing to hold the vote, and it passed, Trump would veto the standalone measure.

This is goddamn treason, with a half-assed figleaf.
And we simply are not that stupid.

Call your senators.

Whether or not these people are actual foreign agents is almost irrelevant. Their actions are observationally equivalent to & indistinguishable from the actions actual foreign agents would be taking. The consequences of our total Article I constitutional crisis, right here:
Tulsi Gabbard has effectively dissolved FMIC, the Foreign Malign Influence Center.

I’m shocked by her flagrant chutzpah to cater favors directly to Russia and China (& other actors), and at the same time, I am not surprised because this is exactly who I thought she is.
Dismantling the Foreign Malign Influence Center
Tulsi Gabbard is dismantling the last U.S. government organ dedicated to tracking State-sponsored efforts to interfere in U.S. institutions.
