His interest in FLW and the design of the Domino's farms headquarters sent me down a rabbit hole a while ago.

There's one planned in Redmond that I've been curious about. Looks like they want to replace 110 apartments with 730. I'm assuming this has to do with having a large block of property vs the size of nearby parcels. Like an empty lot and a 1 story house.

By chance I ended up reading about a Colorado governor a couple weeks ago. I haven't been able to find the full text of his speech yet. (Haven't tried much) But I had a similar thought

I've mentioned to friends that one way spike strips might be the only functional way to control traffic when people disregard seemingly obvious road features.

In the same area while sitting in traffic I watched someone drive the wrong way to get on 520-E. I guess hoping for no oncoming traffic?

An egregious one I saw on a ride was someone crossing over and driving towards oncoming cars to make this illegal (and not very useful) left turn.

I highlighted the curb since it's not clear from google maps but it's one narrow lane in each direction with a hard curb divider.

There was an attempt 100 years ago.

Is that also why those are some the only tall buildings outside of the center of the city?

There's another next to 520 in Portage Bay that has a dock under the majority of the building.

Not sure if you've come across this. The comment indicating it may be connected to Grant's tour of Japan could be a good starting point to find more.

Was looking for the first place I heard this idea. Referencing the wars and religious upheaval after the printing press as a parallel to the internet. I didn't find it, but I came across this from 1998 which is a good reminder that ideas are older than I think.

Another public picture, the structure's so cool.

In NZ they were split open and turned into pouches called poha for food storage. You can see them getting blown up starting at 30 seconds here: www.ngataonga.org.nz/search-use-c...
