Mutual cooperation is the optimal game theory strategy for most complicated games. It is smart to be kind. But the cooperation cannot be naive. Part of intelligent cooperation is working together to shut down bad faith actors.

Can you imagine if the Democratic party pulled its head out of its ass, whipped the party line to be supporting trans people, and then set aside funds and some logistics admins for a program called "Trans People Against Fascism", to support any trans person who wants to get organizing?

This is also why authoritarians in both parties are so intent on censoring social media.

For decades cops murdered with impunity and the press repeated their lies as fact.

Now everyone can document abuse and instantly share it with millions of people.

That makes those in power scared.

Good.
This irrefutable evidence didn't come from professional journalists, but from citizens who showed up & recorded what our government would prefer remain unseen.

From Gaza to Minneapolis, this is why video documentation is treated as a threat: it makes their lies and cover-ups far harder to sustain.

It is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR to see people able to mobilize on the drop of a hat and not get beat up by the cops because they’re not on the sidewalk or they’re using a megaphone — normal characteristics of protest the Adams admin strangled to death.

Makes a massive difference. An overnight 180.
So much is going on, but this week New Yorkers are getting to see how a protest is treated under a Mamdani administration
Anti-ICE march in lower Manhattan is moving north, destination unknown.

Looks to be about a thousand people.

This march does not have a permit, and used amplified sound at the rally with no issues. A notable shift from the Adams admin that directed NYPD to nitpick.

Corporate guidelines without personal accountability to external regulatory bodies will never be anything more than a fig leaf or an excuse, they never compel behavior.
Hello Tim Cook I worked at Tumblr when you gave us 48 hours to get rid of all the consenting, adult boobs. Up all night at your whim, out of the blue. But you're still cool with Twitter and its CSAM and revenge porn and whatever the fuck this is? Why do you even HAVE guidelines?
Previously, several of these companies, like Apple, IBM, and Disney, have paused advertising on X in response to antisemitic content. But antisemitism on X never slowed, sexual abuse imagery increased, and all of these companies quietly resumed advertising anyways.

The way ABC News just parrots the obviously bullshit ICE statement without even saying the nakedly obvious, "But we should all assume they are lying because we have video evidence of them giving the exact same lie a couple days ago" is grotesque.

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

When a cop murdered my big brother at a road block 21 years ago, their post-facto justification was that he tried to run over a cop.

His foot released the brake after the officer shot him in the chest, and the car bumped an officer.

Sigh. The NPR national news brief at the top of the hour mentioned the shooting and simply cited the DHS statement.

Videos showing a federal agent shooting and killing a woman in Minneapolis today are now making the rounds online. Graphic, be advised.

The idea that the now-deceased woman "attacked" agents, like Noem says in this clip, is a blatant fucking lie.

Pretty surreal. Masked ICE agents and Israeli soldiers apparently both get billions of your taxes to shoot people, and then block ambulances from saving those people.

And then you risk getting kidnapped or killed for even questioning that.
