It's a Brand New Age of Stupidity.
The crickets are cashing in their chips.
Planes are building homes in newly lit ground nests
and the Fat Man is on TV again,
wobbling and saying something about a chair,
or a building? or something else?
It doesn't matter.

I still think many Americans have no idea how bad this is going to get. I saw President Obama reposting a tepid, mealy-mouthed analysis by Ezra Klein—who's never seen a phenomenon he couldn't be 5 years late in incompetently circumscribing—and I felt like we don't have what it takes to survive this.

This is why right now is dumber than thr Iraq runup. There was a year of endless propaganda on top of the war mindset of post-9/11 and Bush at +60% approval. Right now its a historically unpopular president following an unpopular ally into a war nobody wants and he's making zero attempt to sell it

The only reason Republicans have a reputation as "fiscal hawks" is that the press refuses to tell the public basic facts about what they do when they are in office.

artists support each other when systems will not. there's little safety net. it is resilience. artists are not your competitors. artists are your peers, mentors, and the ones who will defend the ability to create sustainably.

to those who struggle to continue drawing,
you are an artist.

Not shocking, but nevertheless absolutely appalling. PBS is low-key propaganda for the MAGA crew now, I guess.

The House has passed the GOP's budget bill with the 10-year ban on state AI laws intact. If the provision survives reconciliation in the Senate, the California, Colorado, or any other state that sought to pass laws governing AI would be legally banned from doing so.

A few facts everyone knows about 1890s cinema is that the viewers were prudes shocked at a glimpse of ankle and films like THE KISS (1896) caused a scandal with the open smooching--

What's that? THE KISS wasn't offensive at all? It was actually a comedy & was even screened at church fundraisers?
