I am increasingly of the opinion that people who change menus and look and feel of computer software just so that you know it's a new version should be personally forced to play tech support to my mother for five months.

Little girl (to me) on my way home: Excuse me.
Me: Yes?
Little girl: I mean you need to say, 'Excuse me.'
Me: I do?
Little girl: Yes. Because you stepped on my shadow.
Me: Oh! Excuse me.
Little girl: Thank you. It's okay, she's fine.

I’ll never know how much of my disinterest in gender & womanhood was inborn, how much was being treated like prey by adult men from the age of 11 onward, and how much was societal gatekeeping around the performance of femininity. Not a big loss for me personally (not invested in gender at all)

"conservative feminism" is a contradiction in terms. there is no such thing. feminism is inherently antagonistic to conserving the status quo of the past
What happened, @nytimes.com? Why not stand by your original headline? Because it’s absolutely an accurate representation of this trash conversation.

To publish this at all should be a fireable offense - but to publish it as women’s rights are being decimated is deeply immoral, bordering on evil
