I’ll never know how much of my disinterest in gender & womanhood was inborn, how much was being treated like prey by adult men from the age of 11 onward, and how much was societal gatekeeping around the performance of femininity. Not a big loss for me personally (not invested in gender at all)

As am I, for your situation. Once we take a step back and remind ourselves that people have feelings and should have rights even if those people aren't men, it's... actually deeply appalling.
