I made this protest sign yesterday, in honor of the Migra Watch training I was attending. After the training, I saw the news out of Camarillo, CA and am more convinced than ever of the necessity of using front-line, non-violent tactics to protect our neighbors against militarized secret police.

A Trump administration official said Moderna might have more luck with its vaccine application if it resubmitted with a little “humility”

Does that sound like the “gold-standard science” RFK Jr. promised?

Or a mob boss threat?

I know a lot of people have said this already, but I can tell you that on the ground in Minneapolis people have been radicalized by what they have borne witness to so fast and so massively that the politics at both the local and state level are years behind the population and where they are at now.
another guy who never protested before radicalized to the point of tears by watching masked ICE agents terrify children in his neighborhood

the Republicans are not ready or mentally capable of comprehending the backlash they have generated
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

I spoke with SEIU’s David Huerta, who was arrested in an ICE raid last year and awaits trial.

He says it’s time to go “on offense.”

“Should we use a general strike as a tool? Absolutely. We should be prepared to use that tool because our democracy is worth it.”

Dem leadership long ago gave up their moral authority to consultants and focus groups and it shows
Dem leaders in Congress can’t pivot b/c some centrist memo written months ago said “affordability is everything - always re-direct to it.” That’s why we hear insane things like “The real tragedy involving Alex Pretti is that his funeral expenses are 28% higher than they would have been in 2024!”

In a restaurant with 20 other people, there's a 1-in-4 chance of a COVlD exposure today, if nobody is testing/isolating. Risk is higher in the Northeast and especially the Midwest, lower elsewhere.

YES. A turn to state constitutions for substantive protections from federal authoritarianism is a necessary development under the present circumstances.

I've long seen federalism as on balance bad for rights—Jim Crow, after all, lasted nearly a century. But today, its potential can't be denied.
When state courts interpret their own constitutions to offer broader rights, the federal judiciary can't overturn them. A crucial safeguard against authoritarianism.
