That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

This is what the caving Dems need to understand. Many of us have gone through hell - bug we did it willingly because we wanted to prove we would fight the MAGA cruelty. Now the MAGA Republicans know they can starve Americans for a couple of weeks and Dems will cave. Great message.
Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

Almost 50% of voters strongly disapprove of Trump and his core supporters are shrinking. Encouraging.
A lot of discourse hasn't caught up with how the strong/somewhat breakdown is even more brutal. His core base of strong support is already falling below a quarter of voters! Even what approval he has is increasingly soft and halfhearted. Whereas disapprovers are much firmer in really hating the man.
