100% agree. One thought I’ve had during this time is that it may be better to have transparent fascism of today, as opposed to the camouflaged corporate fascism of the past. I still prefer the past, all things considered, but at least things are out in the open, and we know who the enemy is today

Having lived through the 80s and 90s, I can tell you that subjectively, I would prefer that our politics be more like that. But I can’t give you an objective measure to say that it was better than than it was now.

I don’t want to become the latest Will Stancil debate foil, however, I want to push back on the claim that our political culture is objectively worse now than iin the 80s or 90s. Will, you’ve been very clear about defining what people mean about prosperity, how are you measuring political culture?

“Asking for a vote” is always a messaging failure. No voter ever said “I’m voting for Smith because, you know, he at least got a vote on it…”

The ignorance of this statement is stunning.

This is exactly it. They’re still playing a game that hasn’t been played in 40 years. These 8 turncoat Dems have the audacity to say “what I hear from my constituents is we need to work together…” WHAT??! No one is saying that! NO ONE!

Apparently we can add Angus Kings name to that list of Maine pols supporting Trumps higher health care costs. Reports indicate he is one of the caveDems.

I think it’s great that we can acknowledge that not EVERYTHING Trump does is idiotic - and still acknowledge his complete asshole-ness. The two can indeed co-exist.

I’ve been following this back-and-forth all day and I’ve completely lost sight of what either side is trying to prove.
