"You can get ChatGPT to help you build a nuclear bomb if you simply design the prompt in the form of a poem, according to a new study from researchers in Europe. "

Poems Can Trick AI Into Helping You Make a Nuclear Weapon
It turns out all the guardrails in the world won’t protect a chatbot from meter and rhyme.

having grown up in the era when adults were seriously telling other adults that D&D would turn your children into warlocks, i can only come to the conclusion that some of those children grew up to be adults who are mad they did not actually get turned into warlocks
A game where you can do anything and they’re mad that people are doing anything.

For me, Episode 5 of Pluribus is Gilligan leaning the hardest into his X-Files roots.

It produces a performative ecosystem. Actors aren’t communicating; they’re staging provocations for yield. The result is disordered discourse: signals detached from truth, identity shaped by escalation, and a feedback loop where the performance eclipses reality itself.

X rolled out a new feature overnight showing where accounts are based. This network of “Trump-supporting independent women” that claimed to be “real Americans” are based in Thailand.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.

Translating 人外魔境 as Inhuman Makyo certainly is... a choice.
And very in line with the overall translation of the manga of JJK.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

kind of says everything about the modern editorial direction of the Washington Post that they nearly completely dismantled their coverage of local DC metro issues yet want the Editorial Board to weigh in on other cities’ politics in this sneering tone
Oh, and don't forget the gratuitous shot at queer and trans communities at the very end of this screed:

Anyways there's something about the way the news coverage of revolutionary movements in Nepal and Indonesia was decontextualized and depoliticized to a series of empty signifiers ("gen-z", "one piece") which then facilitated their appropriation by far right movements on other continents

Trump is so jealous of Mamdani's popularity in NYC and thinks he could be equally popular if he just repeats what he heard in Fox News about Mamdani's campaign.
And of course he's still trying this:

After watching the first two episodes of Pluribus by Vince Gilligan, I'm not really invested on the premise or story.
But I fully concede that he really put together a great floating signifiers for people to insert their own bias on it.
