Agree 100% w @davidcorn.bsky.social

Trump talked about "Shylock bankers" last week. Which didn't make front page.

Instead this crap about menace of Ivy league antisemitism.

(FWIW GOP has never had Jewish national-ticket nominee. Four of past six prez of Harvard have been Jewish, including now)
Harvard hasn't been "totally antisemitic." But ADL, AIPAC, Democratic/GOP members of Congress, and much of the media let Trump get away w/ this crap. Kanye West is "totally antisemitic." Trump had dinner w/ him & Hitler fanboy Nick Fuentes. The reporter who asked this should have challenged Trump.
Trump, who referred to bankers as "shylocks" a couple days ago, says Harvard "has been very bad. Totally antisemitic."

If there is one lesson to draw from the history of fascism in the interwar period in Europe, it is this:

Democracy falls if and when mainstream conservatives and centrist/center-right elites decide to make common cause with extremists because they consider the “radical Left” the more acute threat.
“The New York Times collaborated with a white nationalist eugenicist hacker and agreed to keep his identity a secret to publish a Zohran Mamdani hit piece” is a way bigger story than “18 year old Zohran Mamdani ticked ‘African American’ on his Columbia application because he was a citizen of Uganda”

Out here in rural America, where we already wait weeks and weeks for absolutely necessary tests and scans. Agonizing waits.
Again: if you were trying to completely implode rural America and force mass Urban flight I am really unsure how you would be doing anything different.
If this bill passes, the hospital closures start nearly immediately. Can't even imagine how many tens or hundreds of billions in corporate debt/credit is calculated on the presumption of these funds. We are potentially talking "GOP loses every single senate race in 2026" territory

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, today released a Snapshot Report that highlights data on public broadcasters across the United States and broadcasters' role in responding to emergencies and public safety events. I don't understand how the Times can never determine whether Trump is lying but can say with certainty when he is joking.
President Trump on Tuesday joked to reporters that he would like to be the next Pope. He took it a step further on Saturday, sharing what appeared to be an A.I.-generated photo of himself wearing the traditional vestments of the pontiff.

The president has joked about being the next pontiff, but the image, which appeared to be A.I.-generated, took things a step further and drew some pushback.
