Friends, I'm in tears over this. Sheila is the first editor I ever worked with. I was 20. She deserves better bosses than this. She and Trevor and Sheree have all proven themselves again and again to be really good and decent people in this field. MRM should not use them as reputation shields.

I know many of you will be super excited to hear this!

(I'm excited too, but I don't really write horror or dark fantasy, so I'm just going to be excited for those of you who do.)
It's true! Nightmare Magazine will open to subs in January! Check out the schedule below for dates & times; read the guidelines for more specifics.
And yes, as ever, each writer can make one submission to each category: short story, flash, poetry, CNF.

In light of the astronomical increases for my health insurance next year, I thought it would be a good time to encourage people to subscribe. (A few hundred should cover it. Sigh.)

“She explained how much Covid could hurt her & how vulnerable it felt to be unable to wear a mask to protect herself.

She was a perfect example of why other people need to wear masks even if they don’t personally think Covid will hurt them”

If you want to honour Alice Wong’s memory, please mask up
Thank You Alice Wong
Alice Wong has passed away and the disability community has lost a leader. I lost a mentor and a friend. The Disabled Ginger wouldn't exist without Alice and everything she taught me.

Oh no…

I never met her or interacted with her online, but she was such a strong voice - a *necessary* voice - and I learned so damn much from her. Farewell, Alice.
Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Obviously the Epstein Files are bad and should be treated seriously, but what should also be treated seriously are the the concentration camps, the overt bribery in exchange for pardons, the looting of the public treasury, and the perversion of the justice system to persecute political enemies.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

It BOGGLES THE MIND that there are Democratic senators considering caving to the GOP, who will then have ALL the leverage AND increase our insurance premiums for funsies
