I love living in a house built in 1919 that has shit insulation so we can't run the central heat because it's too expensive but our power bill is still stupidly expensive

We have to face the fact that “He killed my ma, he killed my pa, but I will vote for him” would be an effective electoral strategy in the United States
The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

A story that really has passed over America is that Northern European cuisine has died as an everyday thing and most just eat Southern European/MENA food all the time now.
'British food is bad' has been untrue for like a generation and a half at this point but really sticks around in the U.S. U.S. supermarkets are inferior to their U.K. counterparts!

“No room at the Inn” is a biblical reference about immigrants (Jesus’ parents) being turned away. Not the government. Way to go, Hilton! The 3rd Amendment protects private entities from having to house the government.

democratic leaders in the senate acquiesced to republican demands to massively cut transit funding in order to avoid a walkout during the special session this summer and then had to shut down the legislature for a month anyways because of gorsek’s surgery. just a catastrophic failure of leadership
This lays at the feet of the state legislature. This is their fault for not doing the job we elected them to do.

you ever notice how transit cuts in the biggest city in the state aren’t talked about as a political risk for the governor, despite being vastly worse for transit riders than an unnoticeable gas tax increase is for drivers?

30 years ago they were like we have to ban song lyrics for the children but it’s full steam ahead for the here’s how to do drugs until you die machine
“ChatGPT started coaching Sam on how to take drugs, recover from them and plan further binges. It gave him specific doses of illegal substances, and in one chat, it wrote, ‘Hell yes—let’s go full trippy mode’”

The fact that it has "Mc" as part of it's name should probably clue anyone into the fact that it's not ribs. There were people walking around in real life who actually thought they were eating ribs from fucking McDonald's?
"McRib is actually made from restructured pork, combining cuts such as shoulder, heart, tripe, and scalded stomach"

Sinclair warned you.

McDonald’s faces class action lawsuit claiming McRib contains no actual rib meat
The lawsuit argues the McRib’s name and rib-shaped patty mislead consumers and seeks nationwide and state-specific class action status for purchases over the past four years
