✨GAMES PITCH DECK EXAMPLES!✨

I think I first saw these curated by @legobutts.bsky.social in a round up by @ifnotnowgwen.bsky.social and they are 100% where you should start in making your own pitch decks for meeting publishers, investors etc.

Do you see how an act is not, as young men think, like a rock that one picks up and throws, and it hits or misses, and that's the end of it. When that rock is lifted, the earth is lighter; the hand that bears it heavier.

This has so much potential, especially looking at how 90% of East-West journeys are still diesel while most of the North-South (London, it's to and from London) is electrified. @techconnectify.bsky.social

The UK videogames sector seems to be facing a duality:

On one hand, it is trying to convince investors that it's a high-growth, low-risk sector so that it raises financing.

On the other hand, it is trying to convince government that it's suffering from market failure, so it receives funding. 1/9

Books hold the paradoxical power to create and destroy. These inert pieces of paper can elevate humanity but also frighten governments and foment revolutions.

So if your train is delayed by an hour, you get a 100% refund, but if your plane is delayed by an hour, you have to be thankful you got to fly at all. Thank you plane lobby groups for making an already miserable experience even more so. Love it, esp when served with a side of "green plane fuel"

This is the hill I'm willing to die on. I hate these stupid fat towering burgers. The perfect burger is: thin patty, bun, plus cheese, thinly sliced or diced onion/pickle, plus the condiment of your choice. You should be able to hold it in one hand and eat it without dislocating your jaw like snake.

🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero

1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system
2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free
3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us"
4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous
5) That's it!

Here's the other side of the story you won't read in today's headlines about the cost of meeting net zero targets. The reality is the IEA report is deeply flawed and based on some pretty blatant cherry-picking of clean tech costs. www.businessgreen.com/news/4524063...

I'll take it one further: stop making games unless you can fund them through development's end. If you can't, don't make games - make *prototypes* that you can get to vertical slice *very quick*, test the waters by pitching (if no response, post loudly about it), then drop them if they're not it.
Stop making big (+1 years) games, please!!

Take two shots in that time instead of just one.

Yes, there's A LOT of luck. But also, hedge your bets. It's very hard out there. Don't add long and expensive to the risk factors at first.
