Glass onion: the new elite are the stupidest murderous cunts alive and deserve your scorn

Hey so no shade here but... is it just my corner of social media that is showing zero interest in the ~series~ finale of Stranger Things or was it that much of a non-event in general?

I see no lies here.

And most of the times it overlaps!!

No joke, I'm surprised VR didn't have a well funded and high production value of such an obvious immersive power fantasy. Let me do some mecha brawling already. Pacific Rim jaegger competition!
i bet people would pay a lot to get in vr rigs and pilot little cheapish humanoid robots that could just beat the shit out each other to destruction.

One of the purest forms of networking. No lies.
There is another way: I successfully connected with a bunch of well known people from my industry through the medium of unhinged shitposting.
Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.

SO, you want to network but don't know where to begin.

1. DON'T. Make friends instead
2. It's not about what they can do for you
3. Famous people are just people first
4. If you do have to gush, don't just say 'i love your work' , pick one thing and say why. Open ended compliments are awkward

Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:

Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends.

Make. Friends.

They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

This not Netflix's fault, although they've caused other problems in a lot of fronts.

Some of you don't know about the Surf Dracula meme and it shows.

"radio" never radiated so yeah what OP says about the quoted article is true.

It's "podcast" and it will be forever because it's how we all understand it.

You think the word "car" makes sense too? Gtfo!
This is dumb shit because we still say "film" but everything is digital and we say "video games" but VHS is a quaint curiosity for many.

Stop trying to reinvent the world we live in to sound smarter than everyone else and enjoy random terminologies.
It’s finally time to retire the word ‘podcast’

Doing your budgets or schedules with a technology that routinely hallucinates is a terrible idea (as is contracts, legal advice, etc.).

Doing docs with AI is making the primary source of truth unreliable for the team and creates ambiguity or conflict, and thus also a terrible idea.
As the backlash to generative AI in video games continues to pick up steam heading into 2026, it'll be fascinating to see what is considered "made with generative AI." Can a dev team say they're not using AI if they're writing design docs with Copilot or using chatGPT to make schedules and budgets?

everyone dislikes genai in games, but kids and story-focused players the most.

sounds like we'll be ok. just have to stay the course here and the "inevitable" new technology nobody likes will die. again.

I find myself having to browse on LinkedIn lately and every time I go there I ask myself: "are people OK?"

90% reads like something one would write while being held at gunpoint.... ransom video levels of fake insight.
