Just saying this out loud: I have family in other parts of the country who ONLY want to talk about the weather. They are about to be smucked by that storm, but I keep trying to give them a conversational opening to ask how things are going here and just… crickets. So disappointing.
Thousands outside Terminal 1 at the Minneapolis airport now.

GenAI could never ever do this. Only community can do this. This is why the oligarchs are trying to drag the soul out of the arts. Art is resistance and it is about community spirit.
Incredibly emotional to hear my poem has been turned into a song of resistance and is being sung in Minneapolis right now. Please do not give up.

OMG I talked about the Minnesota State Fair and dilly beans
Another silver medalist here. Coming up with an interesting anecdote that can be told on national broadcast television in 20 seconds was easily the most stressful part of the experience.

I came in SECOND, thanks. And I didn’t even cry on national television! :)

I drove almost an hour on a sheet of ice to get home from work today. (Might not go in tomorrow, I do in fact hate this)
Read a little and took a nap, and at 8:45 PM!!! began cooking many pounds of beets to prep them for freezing. I am a fool. But I love beets and I’m not gonna let em get weird.

One of the unsettling things about these books is that characters are, like, unrealistically* open w/their stories. And then it turns out that they are throwing around WHATEVER stories regardless of truth. I can tell when a person IRL is untrustworthy but I have no filters for fictional people! 1/
Reading E. Lockhart’s WE FELL APART. I keep returning to this universe despite the fact that the end of the first book made me so mad I *threw* it — they are compelling books, and you should read them if you’re into unreliable narrators. I realized something today which I will share later…
