My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

If America *were* fascist *today* - what would you have to do differently in your daily life? /1

Again, if they can learn from Mamdani, it's stay on message. If Rufo says Democrats want to teach homosexuality manuals, the response is not 500 words about sensitivity and so forth. It's, "I won't dignify that. I'm busy fighting for equal rights, equal protection, and money in your pocket."

He has a lot of power. That's not changing. But the economy is bad. Worsening. People blame him for that, and blame him for snatching up ice cream men, grannies, kids. Both on moral grounds and for what it will do to the economy. As long as this is true, he's not unchecked, and he's in trouble.

I'd just like to point out that we spent an entire shipment of air defense interceptors' worth of money on new signs for a name change that isn't even legally the name of the DoD.

Ukraine is currently experiencing rolling blackouts from Russian strikes, btw.

people bitch about woke media but if TOS was on today they would go to a thinly-veiled MAGA planet where the locals worshipped guns and then kirk would hit the orange dictator with a two-fisted karate chop before giving a lecture about how science is real and violence is bad

the weird thing about Star Trek is you watch TOS and if you forget it's from 1968, it seems downright backwards. But if you took TOS and updated it for 2025 levels of progressiveness, the Republicans would be calling for the production staff and the writers to be executed on live TV

Okay, I'm going to be the first to admit Heathrow is not exactly the best designed airport in the world.

But for this guy to somehow conclude that his complete inability to understand signage (and to check the actual operating airline for his flight) is proof the UK is failing is simply ridiculous.
I had no idea what this was about, thankfully, so I did a search and I love this travel site completely dunking on Smith for his... inability to follow basic signage. onemileatatime.com/news/economi...
