Oh, that earbud purchase card thing is omnious...

I suspect someone somewhere will come up with an econom ically viable way to separate the copper from the zinc...eventually. If consumers have a way to get them somewhere that'll facilitate that.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Coinstar and other servcies stop taking pennies in a few years.

Can you post a link to the source for this chart? I'm not sure what the units for "Buying Conditions for Houses" reperesents, and wonder which source of consumer sentiment is being used.

I'm not questioning your summary - young people are really discouraged - but this chart is really vague.

If Labour had just lost the public trust over immigration, the damage would likely be containable. But they've lost it over every major policy area. The wonderfully British word "omnishambles" sums it up well.

Let's not. At least, let's not unless we're going to seriously weigh the benefits, costs, and limitations and figure out how to build it without more financial disasters like what we're seeing in California right now.

I love the image, but hate that song with the white-hot fire of a thousand suns.

And yet there are worse. Much worse.

(My nominee for worst: Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time". What a piece of insipid crap. He should lose his knighthood over that.)

Is this in the last year or so, or lifetime?

Either way, it's impressive.

(Or you live in Toronto and fly Porter out of the Raccoon Den a lot.)

No change in my opinion - not incredibly bad, but still bad.

The individual elements are OK (except the name above the windows), but it somehow manages to be too busy and yet spread across too much fuselage at the same time. And it needs to be metal-colored, not grey.

My grandparents lived in Arlington, VT for over 50 years - Rockwell lived there from 1939 to 1953, so he's revered there.
Many locals were in his paintings, my grandfather was in an ad he illustrated.

Local businesses still trade on the Rockwell connection, particularly www.sugarshackvt.com

Again, if they can learn from Mamdani, it's stay on message. If Rufo says Democrats want to teach homosexuality manuals, the response is not 500 words about sensitivity and so forth. It's, "I won't dignify that. I'm busy fighting for equal rights, equal protection, and money in your pocket."

It came across as purely performative.

Having a hatred of ties that borders on qualifying as mental illness myself, I don't have a problem with more casual dress, but you can dress pretty casually and still at least look like you bathe regularly.

Unfortunately, I don't think Thune has the spine necessary to do it.

If we go solely by theme song, "A View To A Kill" has to come into the conversation. (Just for the song, not the movie itself.)

I'd still put "Live and Let Die" first, but it's a near thing.

Having been in too many gym locker rooms with people who can't observe personal space minimums while naked, I generally approve of this.

Aviation geek note: the author's flight from Toronto to NYC was likely delayed because of Canadian problems too - Nav Canada has also had repeated "resource constraints" at Pearson.

Not defending the US issues, just pointing out it's not just us.

NAV Canada says ‘resource constraints’ caused flight delays Saturday at Pearson
Canada’s air navigation service provider says flights were delayed Saturday at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport due to what it called “resource constraints.”

Fortunately, the administration can't stop the Fed from releasing the PCE data, so we still have decent inflation information.

And while not quite the same thing on the labor front, the ADP non-farm payroll data is still reliable.

They can try to hide the bad news, but they can't stop it entirely.

But there is a valid question around the idea that art "in and of itself" must be funded mainly, or even substantially, by government. At best, government funding replaces nobless oblige, at worst government becomes a source of funding so much "art" that elites favor but don't want to pay for.
