something something the more individualized model of trans healthcare also results in further breakdown of gender as a social class/hierarchy
One big missing piece of the picture of trans healthcare debate has been the shift from a one-size fits all program that emphasized a cis passing appearance as the only acceptable end to an individualized approach that offers only as much medical intervention as the patient wants and needs.

From Patagonia to the Arctic Circle, covering Central America and the Caribbean, and ending with, "and my own homeland, Puerto Rico: we're still here" (in Spanish: "y mi patria, Puerto Rico: seguimos aquí")
Benito said "God Bless America," and then proceeded to name every country in South and North America.

Bro literally came out and said “it’s our labor and culture that has always made the Americas great: y’all are just the beneficiaries of slave owners from sea to shining sea,” and I am here for it.
It was transforming the biggest NFL stage in the world into a sugar cane plantation that did it for me.

Like, the multiple layers of turning an American icon into a plantation and highlighting the history of exploitation of Black and Brown bodies by the NFL and American colonialism simultaneously?

My takeaways from Bad Bunny nobody asked for

1. the inclusion of afro-Latinidad
2. the use of kids AS kids. they weren't doing much but vibing (said positively).
3. I think there are a lot of easter eggs that require repeat viewing
4. everyone looked like they were having so much fun

The people saying that was not as political as they thought it would be…have a long ways to grow in visual literacy
If you were hoping for some sort of overt political statement: see the literal plantation Benito created to perform in.

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

Bad Bunny breaks into English for the first time to say “God Bless America…and” and lists all the Latin American countries. I’m dead.

“We cannot just abolish ICE!”

Bestie, you are older than ICE.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

Tim Walz going full on nazi collaborator by using the dnr to protect ice from protesters, and mndot plows to block ambulances from getting to whipple
