I’ve crossed an odd threshold, where a specific pain/discomfort I’m dealing with (that spans both musculoskeletal issues and digestive issues in a way that western medicine is particularly bad at) is more satisfyingly explained by qigong than either my specialist PT or my western chronic illness doc

I do not love that six years into a global pandemic the general widely held consensus is that if you don’t want to consent to getting exposed endlessly your only choice is to basically be a solitary weirdo loving in isolation from even your family.

Merry Christmas! Please enjoy the opening to this Japanese Christmas concert special that I watch every year.

As far as I can tell, this has otherwise been scrubbed from the internet

Okay the part of Emily in Paris Season 5 where they literally sit down and reminisce about “hey, remember how good Season 1 was?” is extremely funny

In 7th grade English class, we read A Christmas Carol and essentially had to write “what happened next” fanfic.

All I remember is the guy in my class whose story contained the sentence “now that he was older, there was NOTHING tiny about Tiny Tim”

Welp, woke up Christmas Eve to a hobby project server being down because… the *nameservers* were returning SERVFAIL?

I’ve enjoyed Hover as my domain registrar for over a decade, and have no plans to switch domain hosting, but am absolutely no longer trusting them for DNS.

Apple rejected my app for being “spam”. Why the fuck do I bother spending my absurdly limited time and energy building things for iOS.
lmao, I built my own and it slaps. Gonna submit to the App Store after some more testing.

The home screen widget I added showing my total time for the day is a surprisingly strong motivator.

Was just thinking about The History Boys, a play (and film) that literally set records for the number of Tony Awards it got, but also has a message of “as long as you’re beloved by your high school students for teaching them invaluable life lessons, you’ll be forgiven for fondling them a bit”

There are 23 apps on my iOS home screen. ~8 are system apps or equivalent (e.g. Google Maps instead of Apple). Of the remaining 15, 4 are 'my' apps (3 self-built apps not on the App Store, one OSS fork using my own bundle ID).

New Year's resolution: increase the number of personal apps.

The physical pain I’m in today is thankfully only like 1/10, but not knowing which of multiple plausible underlying causes I’m dealing with (which would have drastically different treatment plans) is driving me up a wall. I’m so tired.

LRT: a way I am increasingly viewing life is an unending process of learning to slowly unclench all of the parts of you curling inward to prevent you from sharing love to and from the universe.

Feeling cringe at putting your bad art in the world feels like a particularly strong and sad clench.

This is a quote from JA Westenberg that I heard via a video essay, titled "Bitterness as a crutch" by Mickey Galvin.

Sorry I had to screengrab since it's a bit long.
