First day of class was good. I told them it was not an easy class but we would learn together how to be good relatives, hopefully, and that stuff is hard, but worth it.

Hazarding a theory: the phrase “when the ice melts,” is used constantly in the discussion of US aggression toward Greenland, as in: “when the ice melts, we will drill for minerals,” taking the melting of the ice as a foregone conclusion, and this phrase is indicative not of a geopolitical strategy..

Pre-ordered and can’t wait!
It feels amazing to finally see my first book in print. It was a long journey and I am so grateful for all the support I received along the way. ❤️ Thank you @dukepress.bsky.social for making this possible!

hey I like that we're all posting thru it but I also wanted to say, in case anybody else is feeling it, that I'm pretty scared and genuinely think that we've passed a real rubicon in the past week or so and that being at the mercy of a handful of dumbfuck lunatics really does a number on your soul.

Every NDN is a miracle. Fuck Ice. Bring me another blanket. French is just ok. Lines are not property. Men are the worst.

To be politically conscious from 2000-2009, and more specifically from 2001-2005, was to have your brain stamped with a feverish Curse of Knowing. So when you see shit like this, all you can think is “Dick Cheney insisting on links between Al Qaeda and Saddam”. You never forget the scent.

I always think it’s weird when NDNs say: “our relatives south of the border,” because it just repeats the colonial nation state model. Why not say: our relatives in Abiayala?
