If you don't know what's going on with anti-trans stuff in the UK, read this.

If you're similarly disgusted with the way anti-trans people have gotten away with demonising and assaulting an innocent minority, send this to your friends, family and MP to demand change.

They won't stop with us.

Reminder that 100,000 people marched for Trans Pride in London earlier this year, but because they weren't violent fascists, there was minimal press coverage, unlike the Nazis today.

Musk, Tommy Robinson - fascist Britain. A hellpit of violence and racism. They’re using our flag as their rallying cry. And X as their megaphone.
No more appeasement.
No more ‘legitimate concerns’ horseshit.
It’s beyond time to sanction Musk, regulate X and shut these fuckers down.

Musk is inciting violence on London's streets.Tommy Robinson is financed by US tech bros. These are all very direct attempts to destabilise the British state.

Starmer needs to stand up to this. A government that doesn't defend its country's values against these blatant attacks is not doing its job.

Good advice
Concerned about skewed news coverage? "Alexa, ask BBC Sounds to send a comment." This allows you to send a comment to whichever BBC radio station you're listening to. "Message for the Newsroom ..." and fill in the gap.
Get to it! 👍

"Erupt across UK" is a crazily inaccurate ITV news headline for a patchy smattering of protests eg 150-250 people in Orpington, Horley & Cheshunt; a peak yesterday 300 in Mold; & outnumbered by counterprotests in Liverpool, Bristol and Perth

ITV should report accurately, not invent "erupts"

Anyone, and I do mean anyone, who calls for leaving the ECHR is doing so because they want to deny Human Rights to as many people are possible and should be immediately ignored and shunned. And, because I am a rational person, that includes Labour MPs.

I have got to the point of feeling ashamed whenever I see the flag of St George. Someone has painted them onto the mini roundabouts near us, and there are lots on the bridges over the M4 and M5. #Notinmyname is how I feel when I see my country's flag now
Nobody standing up against Tommy Robinson’s incitements to racial hatred.

Instead Conservatives and right wing press idolising a woman who pleaded guilty of inciting racial hatred and violence.

Britain can’t afford Elon’s next power trip.

Today I’ve written to the Energy Secretary urging him to block Musk’s electricity supply licence. The government should be putting the national interest first, not worrying about upsetting Elon Musk.

An excellent initiative but a systemic solution would be for the government to put their money where their mouth is and properly value #carers make Carer's Allowance a benefit you can live on, not the pittance it currently is

This is from the USA but the story is the same over here. I dislike the term "informal" care as it massively underplays what unpaid carers do - there's nothing informal about it. Apart from the complete absence of pay, training, respite etc...
Most caregivers don’t get paid. But they’re still showing up—every single day.

In a national survey of 500 informal caregivers, 91% said they provide care without any compensation. Many are balancing work, family, and emotional strain—while figuring it out as they go.
Caregiver Study
2024 Caregiver Study Informal caregiving can be challenging, but support and resources can make all the difference.

This is going up on my wall as a reminder to myself!
I'm reading Joshua Schimel's "Writing Science: How to write papers that get cited and proposals that get funded". I came across this quote today and felt it speak right to my soul.

As a chronic perfectionist, I always feel the weight of not knowing enough & being right all the time. Wow.
