Honestly I think it's more common than 1 in 20k.
It's a bit like how they say autism is over-represented in the trans community, when in reality part of the reason will be because nearly every trans person has to sit in front of a psychologist in order to legally change sex.

Cis women are being witch-hunted by anti-LGBT extremists, but the lesson here isn't isn't just that this affecting cis women is bad (it is), rather it should be that these witch hunts are the problem - trans people shouldn't be hunted and anti-LGBT extremists need to leave innocent minorities alone.

Yeah I've had to confirm a ton of times that "yes, I am still interested in changing my gender".
What's more annoying is that I've done pretty much everything privately, except bottom surgery because it costs too much, so I'm basically one surgery referral and I'm out of their hair.
