I like to type things into bluesky sometimes. My employer wants you to know that my opinions do not represent theirs, which is understandable.
I’m at an aviation museum, watching a guy sneak under the ropes around a 1920s plane engine with vernier calipers, calling out measurements to his friend, who has SolidWorks open on a laptop.

My favourite part of the job is chasing the sun across the sky in a chariot, my least favourite part is keeping my Jira board up to date

my friend's uncle works at samsung and he told my friend that they tried to make a tv with no bezel at all but when they turned it on the shows all spilled out the sides and they had to put a big cement sarcophagus on the building like chernobyl to stop tv shows from getting everywhere

Debugging Python event loop stuff has me kind of worrying that I’ve squandered the astounding majesty of life, and the only trace I’ll leave on this planet is in the aggregate

I took a 12 hour flight with a completely broken entertainment system once but it was before the whole “raw-dogging a flight” thing so I just drank a bunch and listened to podcasts

Gonna become a “aliens built the pyramids” guy, but for modern buildings. The Australians of the 1970s did not have the technology to build the UTS tower - it must have been extraterrestrials

it’s sad reading like 14th century Christian theologians who spent an inordinate amount of time writing “OK there are exactly 3,892 demons and these are their names and these are their powers”… man, you would have loved Dragonball Z

A hyperspecific belief that gets stronger as I get older: If you want to archive information/data/whatever the filesystem is an unkillable, fault tolerant and user-error tolerant database. Don’t trust metadata locked up in some program, name your stuff properly and it’ll save you if it comes to that
