Your semi-regular reminder that Josh Shapiro is a big ol' bootlicker!
What does collaboration with ICE look like in PA? ICE can access state data without a warrant. Troopers cannot ask about immigration status, but can and do tell ICE if they otherwise discover someone is undocumented. And prisons honor some ICE detainers.

How PA agencies under Shapiro’s control cooperate with ICE
Gov. Josh Shapiro has not hidden that PA works with ICE, nor has he promised new limits on existing cooperation.

Translation: "Whoops! Our 'No Palestinians' immediate banning tool accidentally banned people from a country we approve of"
An error caused a large number of accounts to be incorrectly "marked for review" by our automated system. This tool is normally used to rapidly respond to mass harassment and spam campaigns. We have removed the incorrect labels and will publish an incident report in the coming days.

the AI crash is going to be so bad every major liberal is going to take their turn trying to cushion the blow, because that's what they actually care about. take your lumps Chris, it's for The Country! That's why they pay you the big bucks!
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

I worked full-time for a shelter that was taking in what we called “Katrina dogs,” dogs from the Gulf who were brought up north to at least get them away from the devastation before tracking down their families.

All of these dogs were malnourished, many of them had parasites. This was normal.
This is some genuinely psycho shit...

Let me be problematic for a moment. Sometimes decent people are decent people solely because they got popped in the mouth and learned where the humanity guardrails are. White supremacy removes those guardrails. Lax gun laws remove those guardrails. Absurd wealth removes those guardrails.
We do not punch people in their face in this country enough.

The total lack of explanation or comprehension from all sources contacted I this article is really unsettling - nobody has any idea why a major city was just suddenly grounded - with lethal force authorized against any aircraft that didn’t get the memo.

This will seriously disrupt aid getting into the county. Any country that even wants to pretend to care about Cuba and sovereignty needs to bring jet fuel to Cuba immediately
Cuban government has informed airlines that they only have about 24 hours worth of fuel left for planes.

Beyond the obvious damage that suddenly shutting down any country's air travel would have, a not at all small % of food and medicine in Cuba comes by luggage on airlines

The deadline for responding to this consultation (about whether we should shovel even greater heaps of bureaucratic misery onto immigrants in the hope of pacifying racists) is midnight on Thursday 12th:
The UK government is proposing radical and punitive changes to settlement rules. This is settlement, not citizenship. The consultation is open until 12 February; please respond to it and oppose these evil proposals. Amnesty have a good guide: www.amnesty.org.uk/resources/gu...

"Experts and witnesses attributed this phenomenon to Israel’s systematic use of internationally prohibited thermal and thermobaric weapons, often referred to as vacuum or aerosol bombs, capable of generating temperatures exceeding 3,500 degrees Celsius [6,332 degrees Fahrenheit]."
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.
