Two neighbors came out with a snow shovel and a broom to beat away the officer. If I were writing the scene, I'd add a hockey stick guy but you're doing amazing cliches, Minneapolis.
JUST IN: Minneapolis city officials reported a shooting in north Minneapolis Wednesday night. The Associated Press said a federal officer shot a person in the leg. This is an ongoing story and will be updated as we learn more.

1/ Ciji Graham was the mother of 2-year-old SJ, a sister to 9 younger siblings, a beloved friend.

She's also the 7th case we’ve found of a pregnant woman in a state restricting abortion who died after being unable to access standard care.

This is her story.

Revanchism. Trump dangled himself in front of the Democrats for years saying please nominate me for a president but they weren't that dumb. This is all revenge because he had to settle for Republicans people who he has no respect for and no desire to be among. He wants respect of the cultural elite

What's the difference between most of us and Donald Trump?

When someone screams "pedophile protector," most of us know it's not directed at us.

You know, I've always liked everyone from the Twin Cities I've ever met, but I truly didn't know how ride or die Prince's hometown was until recent times.

They are the realest of real. Deepest of respect from this born-and-raised Detroiter, always. MN/Mpls deserves SO much better than this. 💜☔

This is surreal. 4 Oglala Lakota men kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis have finally been located. One of them was released but the other 3 are being held at Fort Snelling, a former concentration camp used to imprison Native people incl. the Dakota 38 during Dakota Wars.

We don't. Not without making this right and without severely prosecuting these thugs
A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.

He was bundled into the van & taken away.

Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

I don’t know how America comes back from all this.

Journalists often go on hand-fed ride-alongs with agents.

Seldom, though, do they get into the cars of everyday people protecting their communities from those same agents.

We just did exactly that, in ICE-occupied Minneapolis:

Where is the business community and corporate leaders of Minnesota based companies in speaking up? Why aren't the big law firms sending lawyers to represent the people being attacked?

We are not at the end of this authoritarianism, we are at the beginning. And, sadly, we are on our own.

If you need to go somewhere in your state, please stay in a group so you’re not alone and use your cellphone cameras if necessary.

"Did you not learn from what just happened?"

There is a crisis of masculinity in this country and many of the men who are in the throes of that crisis work for ICE.
A U.S. citizen legally observed ICE activity from a distance. He didn’t interfere, block agents, or make contact. An ICE agent still threatened lethal force and referenced a recent killing. That’s retaliation for protected speech—and it’s illegal. Caught on video. #sheshed

there is no coming back from this without prosecutions up and down the entire chain of command
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

First, if you haven’t looked yet, what major publication is running the “ICE is so unpopular its own agents lie abt their jobs” national-news political story?

NYT?
WaPo?

Ha! No.

Second, for YEARS they know they’re hated. And that hatred grows.

They’re scared. Thus the bluster.

They say they’re monitoring ICE arrests. Feds say they’re breaking the law.
The fatal shooting of Renée Good last week, as ICE officers and residents faced off on a Minneapolis street here, has brought new attention to ICE monitoring.

This piece is as reliably great as you'd expect from Spencer Ackerman.
We are far past the stage of permissiveness with white-supremacist violence inside DHS. We are witnessing ICE transition into a death squad.

This cannot be reformed. The only question is who will fight to abolish it, and who will accommodate it instead.
Either ICE Is Abolished or It Will Kill Many More Renee Goods
Minnesota is just the beginning of ICE's transformation into a right-wing death squad. But it can be the end

Minnesotans facing this down 40 years after being the only state in the union not to award its electoral votes to Ronald Reagan is pretty crazy, ngl.
Trying to explain what it feels like in the Twin Cities right now to people who aren’t here and haven’t experienced this is genuinely crazy-making.

Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.
Big clash this afternoon between DHS agents and protesters in a residential street in Minneapolis, following a DHS agent hitting another vehicle. Tear gas was deployed in people’s yards and agents pepper prayed people.

Someone did a great article awhile back about how facts are paywalled but lies are free. It was memorable because it was written by that guy who helped coach what's-her-face's brother to back up her claim of being raped by Biden. I forget his name. Everyone can be right once in a while.
