John Bolton should not only not be platformed he should be run out of public life but white dudes only fail up
John Bolton is on msnow saying this should have happened 6 years ago. There is no reason to platform him. The msm continues to be absolutely unprepared for this moment and are falling in line rather than speaking truth to power.

you don't need to add caveats agreeing that the head of state abducted is a bad guy before opposing abduction of a head of state by military force. If the rule was any head of government is fair game then the entire world would be a series of decapitation strikes and show trials in foreign courts.

None of this excuses Trump, but:

1) There is an OLC opinion that authorizes this, which future AG then OLC head Bill Barr signed in 1989 to authorize the very similar Panama invasion.
2) There is an indictment. It was unsealed under Barr in 2020.
3) Indictment is real. Former top aide pled in June

Yeah, he doesn’t even have to *tell* congress for two days, and can act without authorization for 2 months under the war powers *resolution* (hey remember how the degradation of Congress has been the work of decades? Yeah that.)

I’m thinking this morning about all the people I spoke to last year who were absolutely convinced, and tried to convince me, that Trump would be antiwar compared to Biden and Harris.

In the past week alone he has attacked Nigeria and then Venezuela and also threatened to attack Iran (again).

2026 will be decided by margins, and Black voters are often the margin. That’s why voting rights are under attack. This isn’t random, it’s strategic. They know our votes matter. We’ve fought for our power before and won. 2026 starts now. #ProtectTheVote #BlackVotersMatter #BlackPoliticalPower

I’m old enough to remember when Magic announced his HiV status, it was a death sentence and everyone knew it.
Science works
Magic Johnson was the grand marshal of the Rose Parade today, and as someone who remembers his November 1991 HIV announcement: if you had told anybody that day that he would be alive and healthy 34+ years later, I don't think they would have believed you. Medicine and research—they work.

I feel like people wanting to “solve” uncertainty due to their lack of distress tolerance is part of what has gotten us *here*. But when you remember this, you can handle the scary parts.
